How Bad Do You Want Success?
March 9, 2008 11:44 am T.M.'s BlurbsHey there readers!
In the last couple posts I’ve made, I’ve shown my lack of interest in the internet marketing niche. Honestly, there isn’t much money in it anymore. Ebooks just tell you the same rehashed crap, hefty audio/video courses leave you confused with a big hole in your wallet, and memberships just leave you paying for updated rehashed content.
I was once a victim to all this crap, but not anymore.
That’s why I’ve turned my attention to my other niches that I do online like online dating & music promotion.
Lately, I’ve also been thinking about what else I can offer my readers and subscribers who want to learn more about internet marketing and making money with it. And honestly, I can’t. I love writing articles and such, but I’m finding myself drained.
I find myself trying to write for every single person on my mailing list and my RSS subscribers. So, the articles are very broad, and really don’t hit home with a lot of people.
I mean, what good is it to read a huge ebook and learn about getting traffic to your webpage, when half of the tactics aren’t meant for your niche?
What good is it to get a course about Mass Control marketing to make more money, when you’re not selling anything from your website?
The fact of the matter is, I write and write and write…but it’s not meant for everybody. I hate writing articles for my subscribers, knowing that only a fraction will appreciate the content, and the remaining majority is sitting there feeling left out? And in order to satisfy everyone, I’d have to write 50 articles a day for 50 different topics…and honestly, I’m not beat to do that.
One of the things that I’ve been known for in the underground marketing community, is for helping people, personally. I love giving people personalized advice pertaining to their efforts and their websites/promotions. I truly believe that this is the best way to really help somebody, instead of posting a broad article and leaving you stranded afterwards.
That’s why I said in my last couple posts that I’m going to stick to private email consultation and personal services that I do like creating graphics and lead capture pages for vendors and affiliates. In all honesty, it’s the ONLY way that I can help someone, and actually make a difference.
Writing articles and publishing ebooks is cool. But, at the end of the day, 1 out of every 30 or 40 people who read your ebook will ever use the information, since it’s just text that’s not particularly aimed at the person. This leads to refunds, naturally…and they kill my pockets.
Just imagine having an ebook or a promotion and busting your hump trying to promote it. You get the sales, and you’re grinning all day long. Then, you might get a word of praise from the one person who uses your content for good use. After that, you get tons of disatisfied people asking for refunds or complaining. Yes, this is what I deal with everyday, and to be honest, with all the stress going on in my life…it’s not worth it anymore.
Constantly having to come up with new content to keep my subscribers happy is hard work…and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise that it’s easy…because it’s not.
It’s really taking its toll on me, my brain and my body. So, I’m making a solemn promise…to personally HELP PEOPLE on a 1-on-1 basis.
And I mentioned in past posts how that’s the only way you’ll get advice from me from now on….this is something that I will indeed hold up to the T.
But right now, here’s the thing:
I just got offered a job doing what I truly love to do…music production. I’ve done it for so long since I was a freshman in high school, and I’ve never stopped striving for success with my music over the years.
Well, a friend and business partner of mine has just opened up a new recording studio not too far away from my residence. He needs a recording engineer to man the controls…so naturally he called on me. With my 10 years of audio engineering experience, he saw me as the perfect match. The money sounds good, so I took him up on his offer. Within the next week or two, we’ll be setting up the studio equipment and booking clients to come in and record their music.
So, with this being said, I’m not going to have time to really dedicate to the ‘internet marketing’ niche anymore…as I’ll be undertaking my newest venture in music, as well as putting more attention to my other niches. In my mind, the internet marketing niche is played out.
So, in order to actually HELP people, and be able to undertake my new ventures…I have to cut out the IM niche almost completely. No more guides, reports…maybe a few blog posts about online marketing.
And with my new schedule of business ventures coming up between music and my niche marketing, I really don’t have a lot of free time to really promote a lot or even help out a lot of people. Seriously, this makes me feel so bad, and I might regret this decision down the line. Usually, I answer damn near 100 emails every day from people who are striving to even pull that first dollar online. I love getting these emails, but it’s taking away too much time from really doing what I wanna do in life.
All I wanna do in life is take care of my kids, love my wife, do my music, and build my online business. I can’t build my business by sitting in the office until 3 or 4 AM responding to emails and trying to get people not to go forward with a refund. It’s tiring as hell, and it’s taking a toll on my relationship with the misses! We barely talk anymore, as my face is behind the PC most of the day. If I could show you a pic of me right this second, you’d see bags under my eyes. It sucks when you don’t have a secretary.
In the past, I’ve made resolutions to spend less time away from the PC, but I can’t help it. When you have to put food on the table for your two little rugrats, you can’t help but not be behind the PC, making sure your promotions are all squared away, and that people don’t request refunds…taking the food right off your kitchen table.
So, I’m going to do something I’ve never done before, in hopes that I’ll be able to finally do what I have to do, and truly help people out who have been following me for quite some time now…
I’m limiting myself to only helping 5 people…period. That’s all I can do.
Understand that I’m only one man, and I can only be spread so thin. Right now, I’d rather just limit myself to 5 people instead of trying to respond to 100+ people everyday asking for help, since no other marketer gives a damn about them.
Here’s some things I’ll be doing with thes 5 people.
- help you make your first $1000 online (if you haven’t done so yet)
- personally help you create the website you wanna create
- help you get more traffic to your website (yes, YOUR website, not everybody’s)
- help you do the technical work involved in setting up and updating your website
- help you build your mailing list by any means necessary (without buying leads)
- help you snag Joint Venture partners (by mailing all my JV partners)
- help you write an ebook (if that’s what you want)
- give you access to my JV Manager console that I use to collect payments for a lot of my products
- help you set up a blog and get tons of traffic to it like my blog does
- help you write your affiliate and email promotions
Seriously, that’s a lot of work to do, right?! Now you see why I’m only giving up the opportunity to 5 people right now. Those 5 people will get my full cooperation and total attention.
Anyone else who sends me emails will be pretty much ignored for now, unless its for customer service in regards to a product of mine. Other than that, anyone asking for personal help will be ignored for now. It’s nothing personal at all…it’s just that I’m making a promise to 5 people, and they’re going to get my help, 100%. As one man, I can’t help out 100+ people everyday by myself.
So, the options were either hire a huge staff to help out, or limit the number of people I can help. I chose the second one, because most of the emails I get aren’t helping my business any…sad to say. I mean, if you’re my friend, then you already have my email and we can chat. But if you’re asking for help, I just can’t do it like that anymore…sorry.
So, if you wanna be one of the 5 people who gets me as a coach to help you make your first $1000 online…keep reading.
Since this is my first run at publicly soliciting my coaching service, I can’t charge you an arm and a leg like others online do. I’m only going to charge what I feel is right in my mind for million-dollar assistance, from a proven online winner…
I’m not going to display the price for it here on the blog, but if you click the ordering link below you’ll find out. I’m not putting a time limit to this offer, but there is a cap on it. Once 5 people get in, that’s it! I’m done for now!

Warmest regards,

Good luck!
I know how it is, doing sh** for people and not being appreciated. Most people out there are idiots who just want to make money without doing work or don’t realize that you have to pay your dues before anything significant will happen in your life. There are no guarantees the only options you’ve got are: to keep going on and learning from your mistakes or quit and shut the f*** up.
I consider myself an intermediate-advanced marketer and joined your list for new ideas and got them. You’re making the right decision for yourself and your family. The whiners can go sc*** themselves, they’re not going to get anywhere.

I wish you all the luck Tim.
I am new to this and barely turning any money yet, but it is going in the right direction. My health dictated this change when I had to stop working. I Can’t believe all the material digested in the last few months, then trying to figure out how to use it was a challenge, but I can say that you were a big help to me and I appreciate it!
Good luck!

Hello Tim,
First of all, Congrats and Thanks for your candid, upfront style of teaching. However, to say there is no money in internetmarketing is totally obsurd. What comes to mind is a recent email from John Reese who shares that Marketing to other Marketers is exactly where the money is.
What he meant is first of all you cant send the same rehashed PLR Freebie for upsales that every other AVJoe is sending their list.
You have to be smart.
and you have to be creative.
what if you knew that the craze is blogging, following links, making videos, creating a membershipsite or whatever….
The key my friend is like the millionaire on ebay who simply supplies “shipping supplies”.
You get rich by catering to the masses the TOOLS that they need to do business.
That could be software, being a VA….virtural assistant, or offering website design/hosting.
Theres still are Million Dollar launches every month, and there will keep being Million dollar Launches….
as long as someone figures out a smarter way to cater to the masses…then you will become a big dog yourself.
on another note….its great to be personable with your mailing list and you have always been great with this Tim…However…..
When you do not sound like a baller, and you talk of paying cable bills…thats not what students want to hear….
we want to hear from someone already ballin….
thats just human nature.
again, thanks for sharing…good luck…and please do share your successes….lets all do that.

I hear ya Tim. I have been struggling for a while and spent a lot of money for all those ebooks etc. and still not there yet as there is so much to know and learn from an older persons view and I see completely what you mean. The music promotion is going to be good for you as it is changing in the marketing of it also and you will be a great asset for it. Will look forward to another blog in April or May. It is nice to see some honesty out here and fewer emails wouldn’t hurt any of us.

God Bless–I raised seven children and wish I had made such a decison and cooled my ambition soon enough to save my marriage. I am now 85 and lost all–business included (and it was a big business) I am trying to supplement my income from SS and have scraped together enough to follow maybe ten gurus. I live in Hightstown NJ and I have often thought about your closeness to where I live and wishing to meet you to ask for help. I may come in to an inheritance in the next few weeks and would like to keep in touch to see if you would aid me in my quest.
would you keep me in mind? Jack

Struggling likewise with facts there is no willing money paid for marketing programs offered .. its a discouraging mess because so many are selling worthless information until it does cause anyone to not order things because of fear that its a rip-off deal …… This is where I am at and have very little money to throw around to attempt to get started and then it just does not start using many of the programs sold or offered for sale today as its namely Gerus no good materials as attempting to make a buck or two ….
