2 Free List Building Tips
March 29, 2008 3:37 pm T.M.'s BlurbsTip #1 - Network Like a Social Butterfly
If you’re trying to be an internet marketer, a true entrepreneur should be networking with people all the time. Every where you go, talk with people. You never know exactly who you might run into. Let as many people as you can know about what you do and that your the best at it.
Going to seminars and trade events is a great way to network with people in your markets and a great way to start building relationships with key online businesses. Even if the seminar is a free one, and you can assume that they’re going to try and sell you something during it, still go. Take them for their free stuff, and to be around other people who have the same ambitions and goals as you do.
Ever think of how all those ‘gurus’ know each other? Yup. Nuff said…
You never know who might be able to help you with something down the track. But, if you’re not the type who goes out much, do like I do, and just talk with as many people as you can online. Email people to get a response. Go on social networks and actually use them to network with people. That’s their original purpose…
Google Groups, Yahoo! Groups, Windows Live, heck, even AOL has their own little social network going on since they’re acquiring Bebo, and you only need your AOL Screen Name ID.
Tip #2 - Use An Email Signature – You Send Emails Right?
This is so stupid and simple, and yet people forget to even do it or do it properly. If you send out quite a few emails every day, this is a great method to pick up some new subscribers. I know I email a LOT everyday, to potential customers, prospects, clients, partners…so I use an email signature for sure to plug my website.
All you need to do, is at the end of each email you send out, have a 4 line ad for your newsletter. You could use a classified ad you’ve already written for ezine advertising.
You will be surprised how many people will sign up for your newsletter.
If you’ve ever seen my email signature, it’s stupidly simple.

It’s that simple. I snag people that I contact on the regular. You never know who’s gonna like what you have to offer. And if they ever wanna check me out, they have a website to go to. If they wanna be on my list…I’m not going to tell them NO!
Now, to some people, this might sound elementary. But the fact of the matter is, many people don’t do this stuff, when they really should.
If you’re saying that your email signature isn’t working for you…then maybe you need to change it up. Change the wording. Maybe you need more in your sig. Maybe less…who knows? You’ll only find out through trial and error.
And don’t tell me that you can’t network with anyone on social networks, either. You can network with me! lol

You wanted me to comment on the covers, so that’s what I’ll do.
On the first one, the description text on the bottom right sort of blends into the background. Try removing the “bevel and emboss” effect on it and add a drop shadow. I’d also suggest removing all of the effects from “T.M. Harris Presents” at the top. The Outer Glow makes it hard to read and some of those other effects make it look a tad unprofessional.
For the second one, as I suggested above, remove the effects from “By: T.M. Harris” for the same reason.
The orange and yellow gradient overlay on “REVEALED” really doesn’t fit in there and I’d suggest using a single color or something for that, to make it more ‘hitting’. Also take off the outer stroke or outer glow or whatever it is on that text to.
Otherwise it’s cool in my opinion. Lol.
Yeah, it’s really easy to over-do effects when working in photoshop. Clean and simple usually looks the most professional.
Cool stuff man.
Peace,

Thanks for all your tips and help. I also like the color scheme of REVEALED. It’s brighter, more attractive and much easier to read. Good luck with you new launch!
Warm regards,
Mary

Hi Tim,
Both covers look very professional. I agree with Linus on the print fading into the background on the first one.
Like the “revealed” color. Draws your eyes to it and makes a mental impression.
What would a slightly lighter background do for the Mastermind word. I love that font.
Keep up your work. We draw inspiration from you pace and product.
Best regards,
Barry
